“You can love her with everything you have and she still won’t belong to you. She will run wild with you, beside you with every step, but let me tell you something about women who run with wolves. . . their fierce hearts don’t settle between walls and their instinct is stronger than upbringing.

Love her wild or leave her there.”

This has been an amazing year for me with regard to my photography. I have lived my life with the belief that nothing is by chance. . .everything happens for a reason. I believe there is a reason I found my way to the Chester Springs Nokota Horse Preserve in January of this year. I believe all things are connected and I am on this journey for a reason.

As I look at the end of 2018 and the journey that lies ahead, I am filled with anticipation and a deep sense of wonder for what I will find on the path in front of me. I cannot see where it leads but I know if I follow my Spirit and my instinct, I will not be led astray.

There are moments in life when the stars align; the Universe brings everything into the right place at just the right time and then it waits patiently for us to recognize the gift and capture it. The images I share with you today are the gifts of one such moment in time. It was a day like any other. I was at the Preserve spending time alone in the pastures with the Nokota horses. In the year that I have photographed these amazing creatures, I’ve come to cherish these days spent with them. It is amazing what you see, hear, smell and feel when you allow yourself to clear your mind and just breathe and be present in the moment. I took a series of images of Masquerade and Tahoe. I didn’t realize then what I was capturing and I almost deleted the images. It was several weeks later when I sat down at my laptop and saw the magic appear in front of me! What a gift I was given!

Without a doubt this series of images are my favorite from 2018. These horses spoke to me so beautifully that day and I am so incredibly grateful I paid attention to what was placed in front of my lens and didn’t let the moment slip away. I hope they will speak to you in the same way they speak to me.

Thank you for walking this journey with me and allowing me to share the magic I see through my lens with you. May we all be filled with wonder this Christmas and may we all listen to that quiet inner voice that speaks to us and leads us forward into 2019.

Stay Wild and Free. . .

Here to capture the magical moments between you and your loved ones

I believe it is in our DNA to be connected to nature, animals and each other. When I look through the lens of my camera, I want to highlight this connection and preserve it so you can share your story with future generations.
