There is something magical about a summer evening.
The kind where the air is warm, the sun lingers just a little longer, and laughter seems to carry farther across an open field. The kind of evening that feels ordinary while you’re living it, only to become one of those memories you find yourself returning to years later.
That was exactly the feeling behind July’s Sage Willow Senior Rep Team adventure.
To celebrate America’s 250th birthday, we gathered with vintage Coca-Cola bottles, waving flags, cowboy boots, and all the excitement that comes with the heart of summertime. It was one of those evenings where everything simply came together. We laughed, explored, celebrated, and watched the sky slowly transform around us. By the time we captured our final photographs, dark storm clouds had rolled in and the rain was moments away—as if summer itself had waited for us to finish one more adventure together.
This month, our team looked a little different.
One of our five girls was away making memories of her own on a family vacation, and while we certainly missed having her with us, she was absolutely with us in spirit. Summer is meant for adventures, whether they’re shared together or made with the people you love most, and we can’t wait to have our full team back together for our next chapter.
One of my favorite parts of this Senior Rep Team has very little to do with photography.
It’s watching strangers slowly become friends.
Each month they arrive knowing each other just a little better than they did before. The conversations come easier. The laughter becomes louder. The encouragement feels more natural. Somewhere between the planning, the adventures, and the photographs, something beautiful begins to happen.
They’re building memories together.
Long after these photographs are framed, shared, and tucked into heirloom albums, I hope these girls remember the feeling of these evenings. I hope they remember racing a summer storm, laughing until their cheeks hurt, celebrating a season of life that only comes once, and realizing that senior year was about so much more than graduation.
Because that’s what this team has always been about.
Not popularity.
Not perfection.
Not simply taking beautiful photographs.
It’s about belonging.
It’s about confidence.
It’s about creating a senior year that feels full of adventure, meaningful friendships, and moments worth remembering.
The photographs simply become the way we hold onto it all.
As I looked through this gallery while editing, I couldn’t help but smile. Every image feels like summertime wrapped in red, white, and blue. More than that, they feel like a chapter these girls will carry with them long after they’ve walked across the graduation stage.
And that is exactly why this team exists.
