“I do believe in an everyday sort of magic – The inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like. The eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity. The whispered voice. The hidden presence when we think we’re alone…” –> Charles de Lint

While summer fun has ended for many, coastal North Carolina is still sunny and warm. The days are getting shorter but the water is still inviting and there are still adventures to be taken! This past week I joined Garrett and Tori on their first Adventure Couples Session.

Despite the chance for thunderstorms, we hiked our gear out to a special location on the coast and explored. Like most couples, they were a bit nervous to take pictures and weren’t sure what to do. I helped them relax into their session and guided them into creating these special moments together.

An incoming thunderstorm was approaching and it created a magical sky and a beautiful energy that they embraced together. That magic is evident in the photographs we created! The ocean and storms have this special way of connecting us to nature and each other. Since I was a child I have always been captivated by this energy and thrived in it.

We shot till the last possible moment and as the lightning got closer, we packed up and made the hike back out. Thankfully we made it back to our vehicles just in time!

Enjoy your stunning gallery of images, Garrett and Tori! I know they will bring you years of happiness, as you recall exactly how you felt the day we created them. It was an honor to walk with you and capture your hearts through photographs that will forever tell your story!

I believe it is in our DNA to be connected to nature, animals and each other. When I look through the lens of my camera, I want to highlight this connection and preserve it so you can share your story with future generations.
